CurationSoft Launches the First Desktop-Based Drag and Drop Blogging Tool

Richmond, IN (PRWEB) August 24, 2011

Content publishers are always on the lookout for better tools to help them find and work with content for their curated articles. Several tools now exist as hosted solutions for reading the news, but there are limitations for publishers who need to port the content they curate to their blogs’ editor for easy publishing.

CurationSoft http://www.curationsoft.com is the first serious player in the desktop software arena to allow content curation on many different platforms. By allowing writers to quickly type in a keyword and search YouTube, Google blog search, Twitter, and Flickr, then review and organize the results, the tool makes discovery much easier. Once pictures, videos, or stories have been selected for curation into a post, along with the writer’s own commentary, they can simply drag and drop the content into their editor across all blog platforms.

News and information curation blogs, as well as individuals who share a lot of information via social media, are followed loyally by readers who enjoy easy access to hand-picked content on a topic.

“Often known as the ?copy and paste media? many popular sites like Techmeme and Mediagazer are taking professional content that others produce at great cost and bringing it together in one place.” said Niall Harbison, The Next Web, March 24, 2011.

Readers love curated content despite ready access to Google and other search engines which have long been seen as the portals to discovery. To software developer Brandon Hall, CTO of CurationSoft, the reason is simple.

?People love to follow curation sites and use them as vetted sources where they can access the most important information on a topic without spending time searching for it themselves on many different sites,? Hall says.

Jack Humphrey, CEO of http://www.CurationSoft.com, works with Hall on curation tools and publishes tactics which allow bloggers and social thought leaders to create valuable, curated content for their readers in far less time than it used to take.

?CurationSoft has been a life saver for news bloggers and publishers who live and die by readership and visitor loyalty. It’s a productivity booster for sure. If you cannot put out enough content, readers defect to sites with a bigger writing staff,? says Humphrey. ?Easily curated content makes it really easier to have the kind of output the giant sites have while requiring only one or a few writers.?

CurationSoft also helps social curators on sites like Google+ by allowing social curators to discover and surface content that starts conversations rather than simply sharing content already trending on social sites.

?Curation is the new wild west of content publishing and distribution on the web.? says Humphrey. ?It is easier for less experienced bloggers to get into, and therefore, a lot of the mess on the web can begin to be cleaned up by an army of curators where only human filtering will work.?

San Francisco, California (PRWEB) August 30, 2011

With a goal to inspire family connections in nature and positively impact the social and emotional development of young children, Bay Area family entertainment company It?s all Good media (IAGmedia, Inc.) launches its award-winning, eco-educational series ?Let?s Go Chipper!? Into the Great Outdoors? into select Barnes & Noble stores today. Winner of iParenting?s “Hot Product” Award and Family Fun/Disney.com?s ?Top Ten Video? Award, the DVD and bonus CD tell the story of Chipper, an overly curious city squirrel, who uses music, mishap and humor to playfully teach children about nature and the environment and the importance of respecting and caring for others. Passion 4 K.I.D.S. Charity Launches National Campaign Asking 25,000 People to Donate $10 to Buy Specially Equipped Home for Baby Paralyzed by Uninsured Teen Drunk Driver

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) August 30, 2011

Passion 4 K.I.D.S. (Kids In Desperate Situations) 501 (c) (3) charity is launching a major national campaign called “25,000 Giving Just $ 10″. If 25,000 people donate a minimum of $ 10, the children’s charity will be able to purchase a small home for the little boy affectionately known as “Baby Izaiah” who remains paralyzed from the neck down and breathing on a ventilator since being violently struck by a teen driving drunk while being wheeled in his stroller.

The campaign’s successful initial launch in San Diego County raised $ 100,000 within several months but with inquiries now coming in from around the country, including even soldiers in Iraq, Passion 4 K.I.D.S. has expanded its efforts to allow those touched by this tragic story of baby Izaiah to participate in helping Izaiah’s young family move into their own small home specially equipped to accommodate little Izaiah’s handicapped needs. The charity needs to raise an additional $ 250,000 to purchase the home and renovate as needed. Tax deductible contributions can be made on http://www.passion4kids.com

“This campaign is designed to allow everyone to participate no matter the size of their contribution,” according to Linda Van Kessler, who along with husband Charles is the founder of Passion 4 K.I.D.S. “Many people feel like just a small gift of even $ 10 can’t make a difference so they don’t contribute but the San Diego campaign launch of raising $ 100,000 was achieved 95% by individuals making small contributions. We want to empower people to give anything they can and to know that together we CAN make a difference for baby Izaiah and his family.”

Izaiah Wallis, an 18 month old energetic baby, was being wheeled in his stroller on the sidewalk by his grandfather on the way to the park when suddenly his life was forever changed by a teen drunk and ?high?driver who struck him at 9 am on a Monday morning, according to the North County Times. Ten months and six surgeries later, Izaiah continues to be paralyzed from the neck down with severe brain injury, partially blind, is nourished through a feeding tube, has a colostomy and breathes through a ventilator and tracheotomy.

Doctors have told Izaiah’s young parents that short of a miracle Izaiah will remain in this condition for the remainder of his life due to the severity of injury to his spinal cord. Izaiah was released to come home and will require 24/7 care, physical and occupational therapy for his entire life. These staggering costs will be the sole responsibility of Izaiah’s 22 year old parents who have no health insurance. According to Sign On San Diego, the teen responsible for the accident was here illegally and had no insurance or license. To date the medical bills for Izaiah total over $ 3.5 million. His mom recently went back to part-time minimum wage work to earn some income for the family and his dad stays at home 24/7 caring for Izaiah and running all the medical equipment that keeps him alive.

Recently Dr. Dennis Maness, the brain specialist who is overseeing Izaiah’s post-hospital treatment, has indicated that it is a medical necessity that Izaiah get into another home as soon as possible for many reasons affecting his health: the current home is termite-infested and his immune system cannot tolerate for it to be fumigated, there are possible lead paint and asbestos issues, the windows in his room are far from airtight and the dampness and air get in very severely (Izaiah has twice suffered pneumonia), the halls cannot accommodate his wheelchair, the bathroom door cannot accommodate his wheelchair, his wheelchair cannot get into the shower to bathe him, etc. According to the doctor, ?This is not a luxury – it is a necessity for Izaiah?s health.?

This has been a huge media story in San Diego for the past 10 months and has now gone national with coverage on MSNBC and Univision.

Passion 4 K.I.D.S. desperately needs help to reach its ultimate goal of $ 350,000 for the home to be paid in full. Progress can be charted on the home page of Passion 4 K.I.D.S.

A video has been published about baby Izaiah’s heart-wrenching story.

About Passion 4 K.I.D.S. : Passion 4 K.I.D.S. With Linda being a mentor for the San Diego County Foster Youth Program, Charles’ and Linda’s love for children makes it a perfect fit to expand their meaningful humanitarian mission.

Charles and Linda believe in having a very hands on approach both in the day to day operations of the charity as well as the lives of the children they work with. Can a Small Guy Compete With the Big Manufacturer in the World of Candy? Leaf Brands, LLC Hopes to Do So With Latest Launches.

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) August 31, 2011

It?s a story as old as David and Goliath ? the little guy vs. the big guy. How can the little guy win when the big guy is stronger and more powerful? Just like David, it takes smarts, flexibility, creativity, and lots of bravado and bravery.

That?s how Leaf Brands, LLC and Can You Imagine That! Inc., two small candy companies based in California, try to compete with the candy behemoths such as The Nestle Corporation or The Jelly Belly Candy Co. Small, yet resourceful, both companies have recently launched some out-of-the-box and unique candy items that retailers are finding fun, innovative, and perfect for their consumer.

Indeed, a quick scan at the candy shelves in your neighborhood supermarket or convenience store reveals that a large percentage of the products sold today didn?t even exist 12 months ago ? and many will be gone by this time next year.

?Consumers are always evolving, so whoever can bring them the latest new and desired product to market fastest often wins market share,? says Ellia Kassoff, CEO of Leaf Brands, LLC. ?Because we?re a ?small guy,? we?ve been able to move pretty quickly in terms of product development. We don?t have the red tape or bureaucracy of having things approved before we launch. We just go full speed ahead with an idea and product we love,? Kassoff added.

One of these products from Leaf Brands, LLC includes the launch of a fun candy, Farts Candy?, flavorful chewy candy nuggets that are similar to Nerds

MyGreenBuildings Lands on Inc. 500 List, Launches MyGreenBuildings Brand and Systems Licensing Program for Builders in Markets Nationwide

Sarasota, FL (PRWEB) August 31, 2011

MyGreenBuildings today announced their appearance on the Inc. Magazine ?Top 500 Fastest-Growing Companies? list and simultaneously the launch of the MyGreenBuildings? Brand and Process Licensing program for builders in markets nationwide.

With over 7 million small businesses in the United States, few make the Inc. 500 cut and MyGreenBuildings entered the list at number 326 this year. The company is also the only green builder of the 14 construction industry companies on the list. In the past the Inc. 500 list has featured once-small companies such as Google and Yahoo and inclusion on the list is frequently a key indicator in identifying fast-track industry opportunities.

?This recognition validates the hard work of our staff over the past 5 years building a green construction company and brand committed to reducing carbon, encouraging healthier watersheds, creating safer and more fortified homes and producing healthier indoor environments,? Said Stephen Ellis, MyGreenBuildings CEO. ?Our core focus is on providing measurable environmental and quality of living benefit to the owners of MyGreenBuildings structures and the communities in which they are located. We believe combining our unique marketing and branding experience with our solid business process creates a compelling solution for builders that want to drive their business like we have over the past 5 years and will benefit all of us that participate in growing this national brand.?

The Inc. 500 listing for MyGreenBuildings is the latest in a recognition-filled year for the company, which has included a Sarasota Economic Development Council Hall of Fame award, a Sarasota Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year award and a Fastest Growing Company award from the Gulf Coast Business Review.

Solid Growth In One Of The Hardest Hit Markets

MyGreenBuildings was founded in 2006 at the beginning of the economic downturn. While not a favorable time to launch a construction company, the two LEED-certified company founders, Steve Ellis and Grant Castilow, were able to beat the odds and achieve substantial growth and recognition as the regional experts in high-performance sustainable green construction. A recent video interview of Ellis and Castilow by the SRQ Media Group details the foundation and drive behind MyGreenBuildings.

?MyGreenBuildings has completed over 40 projects in the Sarasota area generating over $ 14 million in sales, and currently has projects worth over $ 5 million existing for the remaining 2011 calendar year and a substantial yet sustainable pipeline of new projects,? said Grant Castilow, MyGreenBuildings COO. ?Our model works and we are now interviewing environmentally-committed builders in other regions that see the benefit of using our brand and processes to take their businesses to the next level and be part of the growth of a recognized national brand for the small builder market. We have spent over $ 1 million building the MyGreenBuildings brand and systems and we provide what even most of the best builders do not currently have ? the marketing and project management systems that really work.?

?Our model will allow licensees to effectively manage their business, market aggressively, plan for growth, and manage a good process — rather than being reactive, which in this market is the role even a top-tier builder is sometimes forced into,? Castilow concluded.

Licensing the Brand has Many Benefits

Licensing the MyGreenBuildings brand, processes, marketing and training tools will allow MyGreenBuildings to expand their own reach nationwide by sharing repeat clients in other cities around the country. ?We are so confident that we have created a substantially unique business formula that we cannot resist the inner drive to help others achieve their own business objectives with a win-win growth plan,? said Ellis.

MyGreenBuildings has consistently achieved exemplary green ratings and awards on the local, regional, and national level for their work in the high performance green construction field. They have achieved through the company?s focus on marketing, building science, business processes, and hands-on construction management.

Creating Jobs ? Supporting our Community

Their success has been shared throughout their community in the form of job creation and more. MyGreenBuildings? unique business model includes strategic local philanthropy through a program the partners established called Community Support for Local Resources (CSLR?). MyGreenBuildings has donated over 100 hours of executive and employee time for important local causes, along with substantial financial contributions. In 2010 alone MyGreenBuildings donated more than 5 percent of company profit to local philanthropy, including $ 5,000 to fund a local program that provides meals to local children in need. ?Our team loves the opportunity to be part of something bigger than a paycheck?bigger than themselves? says Ellis.

Living the Green Dream

Ellis has been called on regularly as a speaker on a regional and national level. In a recent interview with Dick Gordon of NPR?s The Story Ellis explained his philosophy of living the Green Dream – ?It?s not about giving up anything?it?s about making informed choices, and doing more with less.? The company?s portfolio shows just how amazing green buildings can be. ?It?s the ultimate in luxury and doesn?t come at the substantial cost increase everyone was once afraid of,? continued Ellis. As an outspoken advocate of the ?triple bottom line? business model (people, planet, profit), Ellis recently dedicated one lecture to the specific topic of The Green Revolution, where he provided specific advice on how to identify business opportunities in the growing ?green collar? job marketplace. According to Ellis, entrepreneurs in the new Green Economy must lead by, ?Helping people to do more with less and use renewable resources; looking for unique ways to solve problems ? local, regional, national, global ? and make a career out of it; developing great ideas and being unafraid to innovate and cannibalize current business models; and tapping into the new sense of urgency and purpose with respect to environmental awareness and responsibility.?

Every so often, a film is released that calls society?s mores into question. A feature length independent film in development directed by first time director Stefan Blomquist, the story examines the myth and reality of duality in gender and sexuality. Somewhat of a fictional anthropology in timbre, the piece is set in New York and San Francesco in the mid nineties amidst the backdrop of opulent high society and drug-induced artistic expressionism with the introduction of Allan Ginsberg played by Laurence K Cantor. Ginsberg who is best recognized for his work in beat poetry figures greatly in the piece as an ever present lover to JACK in her pubescent years even as she courses onward in her adulthood with short-lived, complicated relations. Other locations include Thailand and Bangkok, which have served not only to establish the visual beauty of journey in self-exploration but also to blur the lines between what is ordinary and unusual.

Asvathaa Launches Facebook Social Game Karma Kingdom

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 14, 2011

Asvathaa Pte. Ltd., a Singapore based game development company has recently launched Karma Kingdom, an exciting quest driven online island game that can be played on Facebook. The tagline of the game, ?Create Your Better World?, best encapsulates the game on many levels. From an innovative non-linear user layout, an intrinsic positive message, to the opportunities afforded users to give to charities; the game is designed to lay new ground and direction for social games.

Asvathaa?s intention is to bring to the market a new generation of original games based on the mythologies and stories from Asian cultures. Initially derived from 5000+-year-old heritage of the Indus valley, these interactive experiences will have a direct impact and positive influence in the way young people learn, play, socialize and participate in their communities and view the world.

Speaking of the game, Ashok Desai, Founder and CEO of Asvathaa, said,? Karma Kingdom is a social game that utilizes Indian Mythology, which the wider Indian Diaspora will find familiar but at the same time one that the global audience won?t get lost in. It took us a year to develop this game as we wanted to provide for a fun and entertaining medium for a broad global audience across a wide demographic and came up with layout and design that will appeal to all.?

Karma Kingdom is all about creating a better world by the players. They have to find shelter and food for their initial citizens and later build-up their community. As the game progresses, users can buy extra items/ elements to make their community more self-dependent like hospitals, schools, restaurants and so on.

The game combines contemporary lessons with Indian mythology characters. For example, in the first rule of order, Lord Ganesha tells the users, to see his/her physical needs. Soon the players build a village, where food and shelter is available to anyone who asks. Then, Lord Ganesha directs the users to Lord Hanuman who guides players to take care of the community?s social and spiritual needs and build good relationships with friends and neighbors.

All of the team members have found the development process a personal journey. Aaron Matthew, Head of Game Development said of the project, ?It brings my love of eastern philosophy to the traditional social game audience.? He added, ?I wanted to create a fun game that leads to social good, and Karma Kingdom is exactly that.?

The game play mechanism is user friendly that casual and social gamers globally will be familiar with. The game also has a unique day and night cycle feature. The game will have quests for day time and night time cycles where the users can complete the full day and night cycle in 15 minutes of the game.

Interestingly, the game also provides a unique connection between the virtual world and the real world, in a way it helps in improving the real world as you go about playing the game. Asvathaa has also dedicated a portion of their income to be donated to non-profit charities around the world. About this, Ashok says, ?we want to offer a personal CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) platform for every individual as the desire to give back exists in each one of us?.

We are currently also setting up a development center in New Delhi. We want to bring to market a wave of social games that will encourage a brand new demographic to play these games. Currently we have 6-7 ideas that are in the early stages of development and are also planning to bring Karma Kingdom to mobile platforms.

Asvathaa Pte. Ltd. has chosen a multi-shore approach to developing the games and has offices in USA, Singapore and India.

Smart-Rig Cranes Launches T1 Model Electric Floor Crane

Newport Beach, California (PRWEB) September 15, 2011

After releasing the S1 model battery powered, full hydraulic mini-crane over a year ago, Smart-Rig Cranes, LLC, a leader in portable crane and floor crane manufacturing and distribution worldwide, is introducing the T1 model floor crane.

“The T1 model has the same narrow base that fits through a door and inside elevators, the same leg system and water-tank counter weight system our customers love, but we scaled down the crane to help a more budget consious buyer and help users with minimal lifting requirments own a portable hoist.” Josh Clark, founder and CEO, stated last week.

With a 18′-3″ hook height, the new T1 portable hoist utilizes a new mast design incorportaing a manual hand pump jack to raise the boom and electric winch, as opposed to a hydraulic jack and batteries. The maximum load capacity is rated at 1,000 lbs., which serves the HVAC(heating and air conditioning) industry well. The T1 crane helps construction workers and employees save time and money setting pipe, pumps, towers, duct work, also with airplane maintenance and manufacturing, aerospace, and general maintenance such as in energy, municiples and schools.

Easy to push around on jobsites and on interior floors, the T1 hoist can also be used on multiple surfaces including exterior surfaces such as grass, dirt, gravel, asphalt, concrete. Utilizing rear steering, the new design allows the crane to swivel, pick and carry and rotate materials and loads. This aspect, according to Josh, gives users a greater sense of control over their applications. “An operator can literally grab a load off the back of a truckbed outside, and carry that load inside a building, through doorways and inside elevators, up several stories, through hallways and aisles, and straight to the jobsite where it can be positioned to rig that same load into position for installation.” Josh said.

Unlike a forklift, these portable cranes are meant to work in tight spaces and rig loads from above. There is no noise, no gas, no pollution. “We are proud to say our cranes are considered environmentally friendly”. Josh stated. “There are no regulations or operations training required, no fuel needed, and anyone over 18 years of age can operate a Smart-Rig after referring to the manual. They are meant to be simple yet powerful and effective lifting tools”
